The Annapurna Circuit – photos! At last!

Feeling extremely dirty and grimy but still having an awfully good time. this is towards the end of the trek, when my preferred footware choice was flipflops and socks (v. hip).

There’s just something about rice paddy green. It’s bright bright bright and vibrant and verdant. Amazing.

Annapurna II and I spent a long time (2 days) staring at each other … we’re close now.

Thorung La pass, the highest pass in the world at 5,420m!! It was quite a climb, but properly celebrated with a song and some yak cheese.

Tilicho Lake. Perhaps the highlight of the whole trek. The highest lake in the world – 5,000m. After hiking for 3 hours, made it in the early morning and went for a swim in the frigidly turquoise waters.

The path towards Tilicho snaked through a crazy landslide area where you had less than a foot to snake through slick skree that tumbled down to the river hundreds of metres below.
My camera is dead and so all images are courtesy of friends met along the way! I fear that the image segment of this blog will be extremely limited, sadly. Apologies.
